Thousands of tributes were left near the Black Sabbath bench and mural in Birmingham City Centre, following the death of Ozzy Osbourne.

A West Midlands Police statement said: “We were alerted to a theft on Broad Street, and following enquiries, our officers identified a 45-year-old man and he was arrested last Saturday (August 2).”

Parviz Jafari has now been charged with theft of flowers, and will be appearing before magistrates on September 3
