Locals reported seeing at least four police vehicles in the area, and police cordoned off a section of coastal path. It has since been confirmed that a body has been found. The death is not being treated as suspicious and the person’s next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We received a report that a body had sadly been found in the water off the coast of Aberporth at around 10.30am today. The next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

The force added that a report will be prepared and sent to His Majesty’s Coroner for Ceredigion.
