For years, punters had been enjoying decently-priced fry ups from Kirkgate Market and the Oastler Centre.
The council did not leave these people behind though with the inclusion of Caffe Brigante in its new offering.

What is Caffe Brigante?
The breakfast and brunch spot sits on the ground floor – facing the market square.
It offers a range of options including traditional fry ups, sandwiches, pasta, and toast.
Customers can also enjoy various hot drinks and tasty desserts.

High praise from customer
As a lover of the traditional English breakfast, since the market’s opening last month, I have been super keen to try one out.
I thought it was only appropriate to take a guest with a similar appetite to mine, so my mother came along and gave it an unusually high “9/10”.
I’ll let you know my rating at the end of this piece.

Expectations hefty following bill
We entered the market on a damp Thursday morning, where it was expectedly quiet before the lunchtime rush.
The cafe has a nice setting with around 11 tables capable of sitting approximately 30 people.
The open kitchen has a modern and stylish feel and the staff were very welcoming and pleasant.
I approached the counter just after 11.30pm to order two full English breakfasts, a cappuccino, and a tea.
The price came to a rather expensive £28.45, so the expectations were high.

What a Caffe Brigante Full English contains
My tastebuds were certainly desperate when I saw the breakfast being cooked in the distance.
The wait of around 10-15 minutes was well worth it when I dived into the contents of my plate.
These were as follows; two sausages, three rashers of bacon, two tomatoes, mushrooms, two fried eggs, three slices of toast, two hash browns, and a piece of black pudding.

Sausages, bacon, and hash browns spot on
It must be said that the highlights of the dish were the meaty sausages, delicious hash browns, and well-cooked bacon.
I’d give it a solid 8/10, if I was to rate it.
One you should definitely try but at that price it is more suited to a well-worth treat now and again.
