The Championship returned this evening in some style as Birmingham City took on Ipswich Town.
Honours were split as the game at the St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park stadium ended up 1-1. However, the match erupted in the 98th minute of injury time as a scrap broke out between the players.
Not content with just watching from the stands, one eager Birmingham fan just had to get involved in it himself. The man, dressed in shorts and Nike t-shirt- climbed, over the barrier and started shoving one of the Ipswich players.

One amused sports fan posted the clip on their X page, with the caption: “Opening night of the season and this Birmingham fan just can’t f****** help himself.
More than a dozen social media users weighed in with their thoughts on the incident, as one said: “Football is back” followed by a sunglasses emoji.
Another added: “Embarrassing needs to be banned for life,” as a third commented: “They’re a different level of inbred that lot.”
Some called for him to be banned for life and one wondered what exactly the man had been up to beforehand, saying: “He doesn’t look drunk so I wonder what else could be in his system.” Elsewhere, another joked: “Ha ha tough guy flattened.”
