The Montgomery Pub in Eastham, is entering ‘an exciting new chapter’ under the leadership of newly appointed manager Vicky Dodd, bringing with it a fresh focus on community, quality food, and lively entertainment.

With more than 30 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, Vicky — originally from Chester but now living in New Brighton — brings what she described as ‘passion, warmth and creativity’ to her new role.

The mother-of-three and newlywed – married just six weeks ago to Matt – says she is determined to make The Montgomery ‘the beating heart of Eastham: a place for friends to gather, families to relax, and couples to enjoy memorable date nights’.

September sees the launch of an all-new autumn menu, alongside an expanded and carefully curated wine list, both designed to elevate the pub’s food and drink experience.

Thursdays will feature a brand-new dining offer: “Meat Up Thursdays”, where two guests can enjoy ‘a delicious meal with a bottle of house wine for just £50 (booking essential)’.

The Montgomery is also ramping up its events calendar with an impressive line-up, including:

Britpop Day: August 30, a chance to ‘celebrate the sounds of the ’90s with a full day of nostalgia’, headlined by local tribute AKA Noel Gallagher.

Oktoberfest, on October 3 promises to be ‘a Bavarian-style celebration with beer, bratwurst, music, and merriment’.

A psychic night on September 10 features local psychic Jackie Thompson and promise to be ‘an evening of spiritual insight and intrigue’.

There is also a weekly pub quiz, every Tuesday. Written and hosted by Vicky herself, this is described as ‘fast-paced’ and aims ‘to keep players on their toes — no time for cheating, just good old-fashioned fun’.

Open Mic Night – Coming Soon A platform for local talent to shine, with weekly live music continuing to create a vibrant atmosphere.

Vicky added: “This isn’t just about changing menus or putting on events. It’s about creating a place where the community truly comes together — whether you’re popping in for a pint, bringing the kids for lunch or heading out for a date night.”
