As set photos from Spider-Man: Brand New Day continue to flood social media, a new batch of images teases the potential return of an iconic location from 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Filming on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s fourth Spider-Man movie is currently underway in Scotland, with the Glasgow city center being used to represent the streets of New York City.
A previous series of set photos has already revealed Tom Holland’s titular webslinger swinging through the streets whilst suspended from wires. Others have also shown his costumed crime fighter landing on an armored tank, something that many audiences have assumed relates to Jon Berenthal’s return as the Punisher.
Now Culture Base has shared a new pair of images featuring Holland posing for a photo with fans, but it is his t-shirt that suggests that the new Spider-Man movie may also return to a key locale from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In the photos, Holland appears to be in costume as Peter Parker and can be seen wearing a Delmar’s Deli shirt. Audiences will recall that Delmar’s Deli is the New York bodega that his character frequents in the franchise’s first solo movie, and it was accidentally destroyed when he intervened in the robbery of a neighboring bank.
What These Latest Spider-Man: Brand New Day Set Photos Mean For The MCU Sequel
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s story expected to pick up after the events of 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, Holland’s Peter Parker is likely to be more alone than he has ever been. With his friends no longer able to remember who he is, and Marissa Tomei’s Aunt May now dead, Peter will potentially be looking to cling desperately to whatever vestiges of his former life may remain.
While it is possible that Holland’s shirt could be little more than a clever Easter-egg for keen-eyed viewers, it could also indicate his desire to remain connected to a time before the world forgot who he was. Given that he now has to support himself financially, he may have even found a job slinging sandwiches for the reopened deli.
Our Take On Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Potential Return To Delmar’s Deli
With the comic book Spider-Man well known for dealing with a succession of unfortunate blows and personal tragedies, Spider-Man: Brand New Day seems poised to deliver perhaps the most comic-accurate representation of this character aspect. Likely consumed with guilt for his inability to save his beloved Aunt May, Peter will probably be looking to make amends wherever possible.
A potential return to Delmar, not only holds personal significance but also one which Peter is partially responsible for destroying, could indicate his character’s need to atone for past mistakes. Having Peter work in a reopened Delmar’s would be far more than a convenient way to support himself through college, and could reveal much about his mindset.
At this stage, however, these assumptions are little more than conjecture, and it is possible that Delmar’s Deli may not appear throughout the events of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Nonetheless, the possibility of a return to the deli responsible for the best sandwiches in Queens would be an excellent narrative device.
