FT: Norwich 1-2 Millwall
Norwich City
Norwich City manager Liam Manning told BBC Radio Norfolk:
“That was a real mixed bag. The first 25 minutes were positive with a lot of possession and control in good areas then we just shifted momentum in their favour.
“But the second half was not where we needed it to be in terms of the game we wanted.
“First game of the season and I know some fans aren’t happy but ultimately it is about stepping back and look at the things which weren’t good enough.
“I am really clear we have to earn the right off people to build the excitement but one game won’t define our season. We are going to have highs and lows. The biggest thing is we are going to improve. Next time we play we step up and take that responsibility.
“There is a huge amount of work to do but we have to accept it.”
[On Josh Sargent’s future] There are no guarantees [he is staying]. He is our player at the moment but there is still time in the window. But we have made it quite clear what we think of him.”
