Salford have signed another player.

Salford Red Devils have announced another loan signing ahead of Sunday’s Super League clash against Hull FC, with Leigh Leopards hooker Brad Dwyer joining the club.

The Red Devils signed six players on Friday, with Riley Lumb, Ben Littlewood, Ciaran Rush, Jake Davies, Harvey Makin, and Taylor Kerr all arriving on loan deals. But they have now added some experience to go with what is a very youthful-looking side, with Dwyer joining on a one-week loan.

The hooker now increases Salford’s squad for the Hull clash to 19 players, with 18 originally named on the RFL website as of Friday afternoon. Ten of those players are loan players, with Salford already possessing Tiaki Chan (Wigan), Toby Warren (Leeds), and Tom Whitehead (Warrington).

The RFL gave Salford, who are stricken with financial issues, dispensation earlier this week to sign loan players, in particular for one week. The general loan time for players is a minimum of two weeks but will move to one week full-time next season, as exclusively reported by All Out Rugby League last month.

Meanwhile, Dwyer has found himself out of sorts at Leigh and will now look for some welcome Super League minutes against the Black and Whites – with whom he spent the 2023 season under Tony Smith.

He made his 300th first-grade appearance earlier this year and has also played for both Warrington Wolves and Leeds Rhinos.
