Phil Woods is best known for being the author of the popular book ‘The Racing Biography of Lewis Hamilton’.
Now, the Connah’s Quay resident has written a book charting the success of England’s Lionesses at Euro 2025.
Incredibly, the book – ‘The Lionesses Roar Again’ – was completed by the Tuesday (July 29) following the final in Basel Switzerland two days earlier.
England beat World Champions Spain for back to back Euro triumphs and Phil’s book was quickly published by Amazon and is available now for just £5.99.
It looks at the last three major tournaments, Euro 22, The World Cup 23 and Euro 25, all finals featuring Sarina Wiegman’s England.
Phil said: “I had the idea for the book as the final penalty was taken in Basel, and wanted to be the first to get such a book out.”

He added: “I spent Monday and Tuesday furiously writing, not even giving myself time to sleep.”
Once he’d finished he decided to go down the route of publishing with Amazon, the quickest way to get a book published and available.
Phil added: “The longest and most frustrating part of the project was trying to format the book in such a way that it was acceptable to Amazon.”
Phil has traditionally written comedy or Formula One, being former editor of two motorsport magazines.
To write about football is a bit of a departure, but the Tranmere Rovers fan has formally written extensively about the club he supports.
The book ‘The Lionesses Roar Again’ celebrates more than the two Euro wins, it also looks at the World Cup and the lead up to these moments, including the near misses until Sarina Wiegman took over.
The book also dedicated a chapter to the genius that is Wiegman, a manager who has been part of the last five major championship finals, the Dutch star taking the Netherlands to glory before taking the England Job.
On writing the book so quickly, Phil: “I’m sure people have written to tight deadlines and fast before, but I seriously doubt books have been written in 48 hours.
“I hope that people enjoy looking back over at these wonderful moments, they should never be forgotten and now I hope they won’t with the release of this book.”
The book is available for just £5.99 in paperback, and £10.99 in hardback on Amazon.
