The best places to live in the UK have been named – and eight of them are in the Midlands.
A number of towns and villages in the region have featured in Sunday Times Best Places to live list for 2025.
About an hour’s drive from Birmingham, the Warwickshire village of Ilmington is on the list.
It was named as the best in the Midlands and the fifth across England.
The small village sits right on the edge of the Cotswolds and is just a short drive from Stratford-upon-Avon.

According to visitors, Ilmington is ‘pretty as a picture’ and a ‘blissful example of village life as it should be’.
In Birmingham, Harborne appears on the list.
Shrewsbury, in Shropshire, also features as one of the best places to live.
Other areas which made the list include Eccleshall, in Staffordshire, and Wirksworth, in Derbyshire.
