Prince Harry, Meghan Markle receive fresh blow from William, Kate, Britons

Prince William and Kate Middleton have once again won the title of the most beloved and popular royals in Britain.

The Prince and Princes of Wales have been crowned by Britons amid ongoing rift with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, handing a massive boost to the couple.

Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle found themselves languishing near the bottom of a new favourability poll.

Fresh data from YouGov has illuminated how British public feel about those within the royal fold, ranking 20 figures on support among members of the public.

The future king and queen have retained their enduring support, topping the list in both men and women, and across all age groups.

Heir to the British throne William has become the most popular member of the royal family, with a huge 74 per cent of the public backing him.

Meanwhile, Princess Kate was close behind, ranking second with 71 per cent of respondents seeing her positively. The Waleses also saw very low negative ratings, with just 17 per cent disapproving of William and 14 per cent of Kate.

However, the the newest survey and poll spelt further gloom for Meghan and Harry, who continue to sink in popularity.

Only 28 per cent of people have a positive view of the Sussexes, with even fewer expressing support for Meghan and Harry, whose approval stands at just 20 per cent.

These grim numbers were matched by overwhelming negative responses, with a massive 67 per cent disapproving of Meghan and 62 per cent similarly unhappy with Harry.

YouGov described the results as a “little different” from its previous survey in May, although the Duchess’s figure remains the joint-lowest on record.

Harry and Meghan found themselves only beating Prince Andrew in the rankings, with only five per cent thinking of King Charles’s disgraced brother positively.

This was compared with the overwhelming 87 per cent of Britons who disapproved of the Duke of York. However, one silver lining for Harry and Meghan could be found in the opinions of younger respondents.

One-third of people aged between 18 and 24 had a positive view of Harry, compared to only 17 per cent of those over 65. These numbers were repeated with Meghan, with 25 per cent of young people backing her compared to just 10 per cent of their older counterparts.
