The Guardia Civil is investigating a violent robbery that took place on Friday night in Puerto Andratx, where a 44-year-old British tourist was assaulted and robbed of his valuable timepiece. The incident occurred around 11 pm in Cala Egos, near a well-known hotel, as the victim was walking with his family after dining at an upmarket restaurant.

According to local authorities, three masked individuals jumped out of a vehicle and targeted the British man. The assailants forcibly restrained him and, despite his resistance, managed to snatch the Rolex watch valued at approximately £40,000 from his wrist. The victim’s young daughter, witnessing the assault, began screaming, which alerted nearby hotel staff and guests, though the perpetrators had already fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.

Local law enforcement, including the Andratx Police and Guardia Civil, promptly arrived at the scene and gathered statements from several witnesses. Investigators are now examining CCTV footage from various locations around Puerto Andratx to identify the suspects.

Sources close to the investigation suggest that the criminals had likely conducted surveillance on the victim earlier in the day, waiting for an opportune moment to strike. The methodical nature of the attack indicates that the perpetrators were experienced in executing such robberies.

The incident has raised concerns about tourist safety in the upmarket resort area, with local authorities stepping up patrols and security measures in response to the robbery.
