The event, held on June 6, celebrated the memory of the late Mel Neale, a beloved former club captain known for his involvement with Trefloyne, Tenby, and South Pembrokeshire Golf Clubs.
The open competition saw juniors from across Pembrokeshire vying for the coveted title.
Mr Neale’s daughter, Joan, attended the event to witness the spirited play and present the awards, accompanied by her daughter Liliwen, a keen member of Trefloyne’s Junior Academy.
The weather set the stage for some remarkable performances, particularly from players on home turf.
However, juniors from other clubs also made their mark, with the top eight positions reflecting a mix of talent from various clubs.
Sophia Mills from Machynys achieved 22 points, while Haverfordwest’s Nathanial Sandy scored 29 points, securing seventh place.
Laci Reynolds, also from Haverfordwest, amassed 30 points, earning her fifth place and the best girl’s title after a close countback against Trefloyne’s Kayla Arthur.
Josh Richards from Trefloyne was fourth with 31 points, also winning a sleeve of balls for the longest drive.
Tenby’s Kazuki Tran bagged third place with an impressive 34 points, along with a sleeve of balls for nearest-the-pin.
Trefloyne’s Ethan Brace claimed second place with 38 points.
The day, however, belonged to Will Morgan, whose outstanding 42 points won him the trophy.
Overall, the event was a fitting tribute to a cherished past captain and a testament to the promising future of junior golf in the region.
