Specialist Risk Group (SRG), an insurance intermediary backed by Warburg Pincus and Temasek, has announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire London-based broker City Quarter Brokers.
Established in 2018, City Quarter Brokers is an independent international insurance and reinsurance broker with full access to Lloyd’s and the London Company Markets. The firm specialises in complex and technical risks within the construction, engineering, and infrastructure sectors, and has established itself as a trusted partner for clients undertaking major international projects.
City Quarter Brokers will join SRG’s expanding Wholesale division, which includes established specialist brands such as Miles Smith, CBC Partnership, SRI, and TUE.
The acquisition enhances SRG’s capability to deliver sophisticated placement solutions for complex risks and reinforces its ambition to be the preferred home for specialist businesses across the insurance value chain.
Lee Anderson, Group Deputy CEO at Specialist Risk Group, said, “We are thrilled to welcome City Quarter Brokers to SRG. Their strong technical expertise in construction and engineering, combined with a global outlook and a dedication to broker service, is completely aligned with our values. As we continue to build out our wholesale platform, City Quarter Brokers represents the kind of deep specialism that makes a real difference to brokers and clients navigating complex risk.”
Rob Walton, CEO of City Quarter Brokers, added, “Joining SRG represents a significant opportunity for our business, our people, and our clients. We’ve built a strong reputation for delivering tailored solutions on technically challenging risks, and SRG’s platform will enable us to expand our reach while staying true to our specialist ethos. Together we look forward to unlocking opportunities while preserving the qualities our clients value most.”
