Patrick Bamford remains completely frozen out of plans at Leeds United as the Premier League season draws near.

The Premier League campaign gets underway on Friday night, but Leeds have to wait until Monday to announce their return to the top flight when they take on Everton.

In the meantime, Daniel Farke will be continuing to press United’s recruitment team to secure lucrative attacker signings.

Leeds United release Premier League promo footage helping fans pronounce names

With the campaign just days away, the club have been sharing promotional content on social media channels to get fans excited for the new season.

United’s latest is a short clip of each player in the squad pronouncing their name, aiding fans with any of the more difficult ones such as Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw or Jaka Bijol:

Last up on the list was Harry Gray, suggesting that the 16-year-old may well be on the fringes of the Premier League squad at some stage.

Patrick Bamford omitted from Leeds United’s new promo footage

While youngsters such as Gray, Rory Mahady and Sam Chambers were all tasked with sharing their not-so-difficult name pronunciations, there were two notable absentees.

Despite missing out of the squad that travelled to Dublin, goalkeeper Illan Meslier is still included. Meslier’s spot as number one at Elland Road has been stripped away from him by new arrival Lucas Perri, who took that number against AC Milan, while Karl Darlow appears to have returned to second choice after his seven-game run to promotion in April and May.

This isn’t the case for Patrick Bamford, though, who is nowhere to be seen in the video and is someone we know is out of the plans with Farke confirming as such back in July.

Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi are also absent, expected to leave in some capacity this summer with the former reportedly subject to permanent transfer talks with an unnamed club.

Patrick Bamford surely on the way out as Leeds United’s season looms

We’re yet to see Bamford move close to the exit door with an actual transfer, but this is yet another indication that he’s completely out of the picture and there’s no coming back.

The same is said of Greenwood and Gyabi, but that was much more obvious after their Championship loans last season.

It’s intriguing with Bamford that the door has been completely shut on his time here, given our long-standing current failure to address the striker position beyond Nmecha (name pronounced “Metcha”, per the video).

Even with Farke only having two other senior options to choose from, Bamford is out while Gray is in.
