The end is near. The Conjuring: Last Rites, billed as the final installment in the mainline franchise, is coming to theaters on September 5, and the film’s “R” rating has arrived.
The Conjuring: Last Rites has been rated “R” for “bloody/violent content and terror.”
This is of course the expected rating for a Conjuring Universe movie at this point, with the first film back in 2013 receiving its “R” rating for “sequences of disturbing violence and terror.” The Conjuring 2 was said to have “terror and horror violence,” while The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It got slapped with an “R” for “terror, violence, and some disturbing images.”
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star in one last terrifying adventure this September. The Conjuring: Last Rites draws inspiration from the real life Smurl Family Haunting.
From New Line Cinema comes the ninth entry in the more than $2 billion theatrical Conjuring universe, The Conjuring: Last Rites, directed by franchise veteran Michael Chaves and produced by franchise architects James Wan and Peter Safran.
