A Glasgow dad “cried” with tears of joy after his Spider-Man-loving son met his favourite hero Tom Holland during filming in the city centre.
Young Sam Arthur’s dream came true after going with his dad Robert to watch the filming for Spider Man: Brand New Day in Glasgow city centre when Tom Holland came over to pose for a picture with him.
And after a cuddle and quick chat with his hero, it got even better for the seven-year-old and his dad, from Pollok, after he featured in a vlog of the superstar showing off his highlights filming in the city.
Sam has been a massive fan of Spider-Man since the age of three, as Robert’s love of the superhero was passed down.

Delighted dad Robert, 26, told Glasgow Live: “I said for him to temper his expectations, I didn’t think it would happen, but someone from the set came up to us and said to ‘stay there for now’.
“Suddenly, Tom finished the take and he started walking around with the mask back on. I said to Sam ‘he’s coming, he’s coming’.
“Sam started jumping up and down, he was so excited.”
Hollywood star Tom took the time to pick up Sam and take pictures with the family, in what was a surreal moment for them both.
Robert said: “It was surreal. Especially when Tom asked him if he wanted to be lifted over the fence. Just talking about it still makes me smile.
“He was just full of smiles and happiness.
“He loves it. He talks about how he got to meet the Spider-Man, and it’s just so nice to see him happy about it.
“It was just really nice, Tom took the time to have a word with everyone there, especially the children. Tom’s a private person, but its nice to see that he’s a pretty nice person.”

After filming, Robert posted pictures of his son and Spider-Man on X, where thousands of people from across the world responded with kind words for the Cleeves Primary School pupil.
He added: “I didn’t think it would go viral and I’ve had people from all over the world thanking me for sharing it.
“People have said to me that almost every actor has had famous pictures with children on set, and that Tom Holland now has Sam.”
And it got even better, when Sam even featured in a behind-the-scenes clip posted by Tom on his social media.
“Robert added: “I’ll be honest, I cried a little, it really hit me, and I was just so happy.”
