A number of tube stations across London are to get some repairs and upgrades over the next year or so as Transport for London (TfL) is seeking a maintenance contract.

TfL is looking at adding tactile paving at some stations that lack it, and also minor repairs to platforms at other stations that need them.
They’re also looking to carry out a range of canopy repairs at above-ground stations.
The Staircase Tactiles Remediation Project seeks to install corduroy tactiles at St James’s Park, Paddington, Maida Vale, Acton Town, Kilburn Park, Gloucester Road and Stepney Green tube stations.
Corduroy tactile paving is usually used on the approach to staircases to warn visually impaired people that they are approaching the stairs.
The Timber Canopies project aims to do remedial work at five stations, including Fairlop, Wimbledon Park, Willesden Green, Hammersmith and North Ealing. It will address water leak issues, replace rotten timbers, and perform general redecorating work.
The Platforms Renewals Project aims to conduct minor and major repairs, maintenance works and replacements at 8 stations, including Clapham Common, Clapham North, Covent Garden, Kennington, King’s Cross, St John’s Wood, West Hampstead, and Willesden Green.
The project’s objective is to remove trip hazards, refurbish the condition of platforms and customer walkways, and increase safety by reinforcing the nosing stones that line the edge of the platforms.
The total value of the contract is around £2 million and is due to take about 17 months to complete.
