Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been given some blunt advice by former Real Housewife Bethenny Frankel.

The former Real Housewives of New York City star suggested that many of the Sussexes’ ventures since stepping back from royal duties have failed to “land”.

“They didn’t want the fame, but they didn’t want to give up the lifestyle, because it’s expensive. Now they’re living in Montecito, and it’s hard for things to land,” she said.

“It’s hard to land all of those things, and they wanted to do it in a timely manner because they realised there was a certain window of opportunity, so they made all these different deals. And business is really hard,” she continued.

Despite the criticism, Frankel insisted she admired their relationship, continuing to tell Us Weekly: “I respect that relationship and that loyalty to each other, and I just don’t think it’s that easy.

“If it was so easy, everybody would be good at doing it.”

Since leaving the royal fold, Meghan has launched two podcasts, a Netflix docuseries, a lifestyle show called With Love, Meghan, and a product line featuring jams, wine, and cookie mix.

Harry has released a tell-all memoir and produced a Netflix reality series focused on the world of polo.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Netflix deal has recently been renewed, with Meghan saying: “We’re proud to extend our partnership with Netflix and expand our work together to include the As ever brand.

“My husband and I feel inspired by our partners who work closely with us and our Archewell Productions team to create thoughtful content across genres that resonates globally, and celebrates our shared vision.”

A source close to the Sussexes told GB News: “The couple are pretty thrilled with the deal. It’s been a long time in the planning. They’re over the moon. It’s great to be able to continue making great programmes with Netflix.

“It’s been frustrating we haven’t been able to say too much and put [the rumours] to bed during contract negotiations.

“Some of the reporting shows you how much wild and inaccurate speculation there is around the Duke and Duchess. Harry and Meghan are still box office despite what the British press might want to think, and prefer to promote a negative agenda. Netflix would not have renewed the deal if they thought The Duke and Duchess wouldn’t sell.”

Frankel, who has built a multi-million-dollar career as a TikTok influencer, also turned her attention to the world of talk shows, aiming for the likes of Jeremy Clarkson, Drew Barrymore, and Jimmy Kimmel.

Regarding her online presence, she explained: “People are like, ‘When are you going back on TV?’

“I’m like, ‘I am [on TV]. This is it. We’re watching the show right now.’

“I can’t make more money by going and sitting in Jimmy Fallon’s seat, having to go to a studio and do it the way they want, or Kelly Clarkson or Drew Barrymore.

“I make as much money as they do sitting in my house, in my pyjamas.

“This is my talk show, my thing, and I get to be myself.”

With 3.3 million followers on TikTok and more than four million on Instagram, Frankel’s videos regularly draw hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of views, rivalling the audience figures of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
