Daryz looks set to take his place in the line-up for next Wednesday’s £1.25 million Juddmonte International after pleasing trainer Francis Graffard and the Aga Khan Studs team in a key gallop in Chantilly on Thursday.
Retained rider Mickael Barzalona was aboard the unbeaten three-year-old son of Sea The Stars, who pulled nicely clear of his work companions on Les Aigles.
Daryz is a best-priced 14-1 for both the York showpiece and the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and connections have been weighing up whether the colt should travel for the first time, or else wait for Longchamp’s traditional trials card on September 7 and a first try at a mile and a half in the Prix Niel.
