Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) is proud to share that West Country Water Park is hosting a special Glow Swim event on Saturday 7 September.

The Glow Swim will help kick off Air Ambulance Week—a national campaign to raise awareness and vital funds for their local air ambulance charity.

This exciting evening swim will be soundtracked by local DJs G and D Entertainment, creating a fun and  family-friendly atmosphere as participants take to the water under the glow of lights and music.

Proceeds will support GWAAC’s lifesaving service, which provides pre-hospital emergency medical care across South Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, and parts of Wiltshire.

Jenny Holmes, director at West Country Water Park, shared her motivation for supporting GWAAC, said: “After numerous holidays in Cornwall, we came to truly appreciate the vital work air ambulances do in providing lifesaving care during emergencies.

“We wanted to support our local air ambulance GWAAC and the incredible service they provide our shared community.

“We also regularly see the helicopters over the lake as they return from their missions.

“It’s such a vital service – and yet they receive no regular government or National Lottery funding.

“We’re proud to do our part and hope the local community will dive in and support with us.”

Eloise Skidmore, supporter engagement coordinator for South Gloucestershire and Bristol at GWAAC, added: “We’re incredibly grateful to West Country Water Park for organising this fantastic event.

“We rely on donations to raise the £4 million needed annually to stay operational. Every pound raised helps us bring critical care to those who need it most – and ultimately, saves lives.”
