Leeds United dropped more points in their race to secure promotion after a 1-1 draw against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road.

Despite squaring off against one of the worst teams in the division, Daniel Farke’s side failed to get the job done.

Dan James scored for Leeds, but they failed to add a second that would’ve given them the three points.

To make things worse for Leeds, Pascal Struijk now faces a potential injury issue in the run-in to the end of the season.

Farke would want all his players available for some tricky games ahead, but he may not get his wish.

Yorkshire Evening Post’s Joe Donnohue was in attendance at Kenilworth Road to watch Leeds draw 1-1 against Luton.

After the match, he spotted Struijk limping and took to X to share that with the fans.

He wrote: “Pascal Struijk still limping at full-time.”

Leeds United and Farke have let a glorious chance slip out of their hands

Things were in Leeds’ hands a few weeks ago and now their destiny is no longer in their hands.

Had it not been for James’ goal, things would have been a lot worse for Farke and his side.

Leeds United’s mentality has been laid bare as the Championship promotion race slips from their grasp, leaving fans frustrated and pointing fingers.

While rivals Burnley and Sheffield United have maintained consistency, the Whites have stumbled, their once-promising campaign now teetering on the edge.

Early season optimism has given way to faltering performances, with key moments exposing a lack of resilience and killer instinct.

Farke must shoulder much of the blame as his inability to adapt and inspire under pressure has seen the team lose ground, turning automatic promotion into a distant hope.

Supporters, vocal in their discontent, see a squad that’s crumbled when it matters most, a stark contrast to the steely resolve of their competitors.

Farke’s task is clear as he must rally his players, overhaul their fragile mindset and reignite their fight, or risk a season of missed opportunities defining his tenure.
