We’ve had our fair share of incredible film and TV productions take advantage of the Greater Manchester area, and now there’s a new series on the block. The Blame has been announced as a Quay Street Productions and ITV series to come, starring the likes of Michelle Keegan, Douglas Booth and Ceallach Spellman.

The new six-part series is set to have us on the edge of our seats, and with Quay Street Productions at the helm, we have an inkling that the filming may take place in and around Greater Manchester. The production company has, in the recent past, used its home region for the likes of After The Flood, The Stolen Girl, and plenty of Harlan Coben adaptations including Fool Me Once and the upcoming Run Away.

Big names released so far to feature in The Blame are: Michelle Keegan, Douglas Booth, Ian Hart, Nathan Mensah, Nigel Boyle, Joe Armstrong, Matilda Freeman, Gavin Spokes, Grace Saif, Josh Bolt and Ceallach Spellman, and Aaron Anthony.

The Blame begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered, sending shockwaves through the town of Wakestead, setting off a series of events. As DI Crane (Keegan) and DI Radley (Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death, spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise.

As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team.

Set to conjure the sinister atmosphere of Line of Duty, and the cop thriller excitement of a Harlan Coben script, The Blame is so far made up of only successful parts. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any filming happening in the local area, plus any news on a release date to come.
