Map of London showing the happy hours across the city

It’s officially Friday afternoon and you’ve almost earned your end-of-week pint, Londoners. If you’re stuck on where to go or are after a good deal, you’re in luck. A map showing you where you can get discounted drops of lager (or your chosen libation) around the city has just landed.

Not exactly controversial to say that drinking is expensive in this city, is it? Happy hours are one way to sink a few at a cheaper rate, though it’s hard to know when and where they’re taking place. If you find yourself away from your local haunts, you can now rely on the HappyPlaces app to guide you towards the watering holes across the city running happy hours.

HappyPlaces was all put together last week by its creator, Andrew Myers, and you can scan the webpage now to find your chosen happy hour. Soon, there will also be versions for the phone to make access when you opt for spontaneous pint (the best kind) all the more easy.

If you’re specific about what kind of drink you’re hoping to sip on (a beer for the sunshine, a cocktail for the sunsets), there’s also a handy set of filters on the app that lets you flicker between pints, glasses of wine, or the stronger stuff. If you’re not fussy, you can leave them all ticked in your hunt for the cheapest option to wet the whistle.

Should you wish to plump for an independent business, it’ll also give you the option to deselect chains. And, perhaps most importantly of all, you can set the time to later in the day if you find yourself still sitting at your desk, dreaming of that first sip. Cheers!

You can view the map of London Happy Hours via the webpage here. There are also plans for a mobile version coming to Apple and Android soon.
