Wrexham saw their promotion hopes take a blow following their meeting with Bristol Rovers on Friday.
Prior to the latest round of League One fixtures getting underway, Wycombe Wanderers fans sent a message to Rob McElhenney regarding the promotion race.
The Chairboys have been the Red Dragons’ closest rivals in the battle for second, and April 18 was a great day for them.
Wrexham have been leading the charge to join Birmingham City as the two teams that secure automatic promotion from the top-flight this campaign.
However, with Wycombe now on a three-game winning streak, it is Mike Dodds’ men who are in the driver’s seat.

As late as Friday morning, Wrexham were predicted to win promotion to the Championship by taking the final automatic place.
However, with two huge points dropped over the Easter weekend, their chances of doing so have decreased a great deal.
As per Opta’s supercomputer, Wycombe are now being backed to end 2024/25 sat in second with 88.81 points.
Wrexham, on the other hand, take third with 87.15 points amassed by the time May 3 ends.
On a more positive note, Wrexham are given a 76.22 percent chance of winning a place in next season’s Championship via the play-offs.

Wrexham fans should not get too concerned about Opta’s prediction for the final League One table, however.
There may only be three games of the season remaining, but the Red Dragons have some decent fixtures coming up.
They beat Blackpool 2-1 earlier this season, while Wycombe still have to play two of the top five in their last three matches.
Even if they don’t manage to beat Wycombe to second, Wrexham will break a record they have not surpassed in 42 years this season.
