DWP payment date shake-up will take place as we head through August and towards the end of the month.DWP state pension change kicks in next week for thousands of older people
A state pension change kicks in NEXT WEEK for state pensioners with thousands affected. A Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) payment date shake-up will take place as we head through August and towards the end of the month.
The final Bnak Holiday of the summer will bring with it a payment tweak for state pensioners. But households are warned the alteration could leave them facing a longer wait until their next payment.
Thousands of pensioners will get their state pension payments earlier than usual. The DWP has confirmed that anyone scheduled to be paid on Monday, August 25, when the summer bank holiday falls in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, will instead receive their money on Friday, August 22.

The adjustment happens automatically and applies to all affected payments, including the state pension. The change will also affect those whose payments are due on Saturday, August 23 or Sunday, August 24, with funds arriving on the Friday instead.
The DWP said: “If your payment date is on a weekend or a bank holiday you’ll usually be paid on the working day before.”
State pension recipients are paid on a four-week cycle determined by the final two digits of their National Insurance number. Once you have applied for new State Pension you will get a letter from the Department for Work and Pensions.
They will ask you for details of your bank or building society account. Your new State Pension will be paid into this account.
You should get your first payment within 5 weeks of reaching State Pension age. Your first payment might be a part payment if your claim started less than 4 weeks before. The letter you get will tell you what payment to expect.
You will get a full payment every 4 weeks after that. Your payment day Your payment will be for the past 4 weeks. The day you get paid depends on your National Insurance number.
Numbers ending in 00-19 are usually paid on Mondays, 20-39 on Tuesdays, 40-59 on Wednesdays, 60-79 on Thursdays, and 80-99 on Fridays.
