The beach was busy when emergency services were called to the scene

An air ambulance was sent to a Welsh beach following a sea rescue. Emergency services were called to the busy beach at Conwy Morfa on Saturday afternoon (August 16). Police have said that an individual got into difficulties while in the sea off the coast and there were a number of emergency services at the scene.
The Wales Air Ambulance was called at approximately 4.30pm. The helicopter flew from its base to the beach just outside Conwy town. The aircraft departed the scene and headed east.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said on Saturday afternoon: “We are currently in attendance at an incident on Conwy Morfa beach alongside other emergency service partners.”
They added: “An individual who got into difficulty in the water has been rescued.”
The large sandy bay forms forms part of the extensive sandy beaches and mussel banks of Conwy Bay at low tide, and is close to the marina.
