Traffic Scotland announced that the northbound carriageway of the M80 is currently shut at junction six (Cumbernauld, Castlecary) after the crash took place at around 2pm today.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area, as motorists are being diverted off of the motorway at present.

Emergency services are in attendance.

A Traffic Scotland spokesperson said: “The M80 northbound is closed at junction six due to a collision.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the area. Drivers are being diverted off the motorway at junction six.

“Emergency services are at the scene. More updates to follow.”
