Design, build, handling

As we already mentioned, the Poco M7 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 14 5G are two quite similar devices. The first major difference, however, is the design. While both phones feature dual-tone back panels, the one on the Poco is flashier, but in a good way.

The Poco M7 Pro 5G has a 40/60 split on the back between clean and marble-like texture. The whole thing is covered with a somewhat sparkly yet matte layer. The colorways of the M7 Pro 5G are also new – Olive Twilight (dark green, ours), Lavender Frons (light purple), Lunar Dust (gray), and a limited Black model (no dual tone here).

The phone has a typical design with flat panels and flat sides. Everything is made of plastic except for the screen glass, which is Gorilla Glass 5.

The Poco M7 Pro 5G, just like its Redmi version, is IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance.

Let’s take a closer look at the Poco M7 Pro 5G.

The whole front is reserved for the 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It has a small punch hole for the 20MP selfie camera.

The screen bezels are alright, mostly even, except for the slightly thicker bottom.

There is under-display optical fingerprint reader, which works great.

The back panel has a sticking-out square camera housing, which has a glossy surface. The Poco M7 Pro has two camera rings instead of three, as there is no ultrawide camera like the Redmi. The LED flash is also around.

There are a lot of interesting features on the sides of the Poco M7 Pro 5G. The top has the audio jack, one of the stereo speakers that also doubles as an earpiece (or is it the other way around?), the IR blaster, and a secondary mic.

The bottom has the USB-C port, the other stereo speaker, the primary mic, and the hybrid SIM tray with a microSD card option.

Finally, the volume and power keys are on the right.

Poco M7 Pro 5G review

The Poco M7 Pro 5eG measures 162.4 x 75.7 x 8 mm and weighs 190g – exactly like the Redmi Note 14 5G and in line with most 6.67-inch smartphones.

Poco M7 Pro 5G review

The Poco M7 Pro 5G is a beautiful phone with a solid build and appreciated ingress protection. The matte rear panel and sides make it smudge-resistant, though a bit slippery. Some may find it more comfortable to handle it with the bundled case, though the flashy back will be all but hidden this way.
