Liverpool target Marc Guehi has ignited fresh transfer rumours amongst fans following Crystal Palace’s stalemate with Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.
The centre-back was included in Oliver Glasner’s starting lineup for their clash at Stamford Bridge despite questions surrounding his future. The Merseyside club are eager to secure his signature in the remaining fortnight of the transfer window.
Guehi has fewer than 12 months left on his Palace deal, meaning the south London outfit could be forced to offload him this summer to prevent losing him for nothing next year. Following his captaincy role in the Eagles’ Community Shield triumph over Liverpool last weekend, Guehi featured for the full 90 minutes in Palace’s scoreless stalemate with Chelsea.

Post-match, Glasner praised Guehi’s commitment alongside Eberechi Eze, who is also a top target this transfer window.
“There’s a lot of rumours about Eberechi and Marc Guehi, but I think everyone who watched the game saw they’re 100% with this group, with this group and it’s what we expect from our players that they give 100%,” he told Sky Sports.
“We rely on each other and they proved it in a brilliant way.”
Nevertheless, Sky Sports have subsequently published footage that appears to show Guehi blanking Glasner at the final whistle. The Palace boss was heard calling the defender’s name repeatedly as he made his way toward the tunnel.

Guehi seemed to glance at the Austrian, shaking his head before continuing towards the tunnel. Glasner then appeared to turn to the travelling fans and seemingly inquire about the defender from Jean-Philippe Mateta.
The Liverpool Echo. revealed this week that negotiations are underway for Palace captain Guehi – with the potential move viewed as separate from the £26m acquisition of young Italian defender Giovanni Leoni.
Palace seem resolute in retaining as many key players as possible as they prepare for a European campaign.
Eberechi Eze is still on Arsenal’s radar, while numerous clubs are known to admire Jean-Philippe Mateta and Premier League champions Liverpool aren’t the only ones interested in Guehi.
Newcastle and Tottenham attempted to sign the defender last summer, but he remained at Selhurst Park and played a crucial role in Palace’s FA Cup victory. Guehi is in the final year of his contract, but that hasn’t prompted his team to consider a bargain sale.
