Ruben Selles admits Sheffield United fans are already running out of patience after a 1-0 defeat to Swansea on Saturday.
Ronald’s 66th minute winner sealed all three points for the Swans, as pressure piles on the Blades and Selles, with those in the away end making their feelings known.
Sheffield United, who are still suffering a hangover from their play-off final defeat last season, struggled to go on the attack with the latest result their a third defeat from three matches in all competitions.
Selles knows his side needs strengthening before the window slams shut on the 1st of September, at this early stage of the season, they sit bottom of the Championship table, having been listed by some bookies as one of the favourites to win promotion.

Sheffield United’s Ruben Selles: “The first half was an even game. Then in the second half they broke our pressure a couple of times, especially around our right-hand side.
“We tried to adjust the pressure and didn’t work in the way that we wanted. In an offensive throw, they scored a goal and it was a throw for us.
“The game became difficult for us and then we were not good enough arriving into the final third and trying to create more situations. We must remain calm in all we do.
“We need to find our platform, but it’s the nature of football.
“We know how it works and I can ask them to be calm. But they are going to tell me, probably, ‘F*** off’ – something like that, no?
“It’s how you say in English? Sorry for my English, but I didn’t know any better way to express that one.
“We are going to be honest, we are going to work hard, we are going to persist in what we do and we are going to give it our absolute 100 per cent.
“At some point the situation will turn and we will start to win football matches. That’s as much as I can say, but everyone is free to feel what they want to feel.”

Someone was absolutely hurling abuse at him to be fair a few trying to start arguments in away end because of it think he was responding to the abuse to be fair as if to say what the fuck / what more do you want from me .. he tried goin straight down tunnel but came back out

Swansea’s Alan Sheehan said, per the club website: “I am delighted with the win, and the atmosphere in the stadium was wonderful,” he said.
“We could have been two or three up before the water break in the first half, that stoppage broke our rhythm a bit and they accumulated some set-pieces between then and half-time.
“But in the second half I felt we were on the front foot the whole way, and the only criticism would be that it was not two, three or four and the game was more comfortable.
“Even so, we limited a team that was one game away from going to the Premier League to zero shots on target shows how good our defensive structure was.
“The way we attacked and defended as a team was very good, it felt right.
“We wanted to respond after last weekend, and we wanted to be more like ourselves and you could see a team that was so aggressive and fighting for each other.
“It’s a clean sheet, a good win and something to build on.”
🗣️ “We need to fight against the negativity”

This is how Twitter users reacted as Ruben Selles admits Sheffield United fans are running out of patience after defeat to Swansea…
@MarkWat26521362: Wilder their favourite sacked, a bizarre appointment in Selles, no structure, no threat, no passion, no game plan and no points so far. Add to that the fact they had travelled 250 miles and you can understand their frustration perhaps?
@FanOwls9220: Sheffield double relegation?
@BladeCarl: If ever a player deserved a move to the Premier League, it’s Gus Hamer. How we’re playing at the moment we don’t deserve a player like him. Good luck Gus. 👏
@Jonzysufc: I’d get back on the phone to Chris Wilder this evening and apologise for the way you’ve treat him and ask him if he’ll come back and sort this mess out. Shambles.
@CotherRichard: How much longer before Gus. Coops and more want to not agree to stay. Seriki and Brooks. This manager is not fitting in the Sheffield United way we play. Don’t even know who his number 2is and staff. Gone before Halloween
@TDShepherd20: Apologise and ask him to come back.
@barnesy1889: Get ready for more of this. We were ready to go again. We were ready to challenge. The board have absolutely destroyed what was built. Sack Selles, and move on. Save our season before it’s too late
@jamesmarkburke: Absolutely embarrassing! Terrible performance again what is this style of play regardless of signings that is absolutely shocking
@AidanGrassham17: We did warn you about selles shocking style of football always was so so negative but aslong as you’re ’competitive’ it’s all good 😂
@Blades_Mad: Criminally bad. Absolutely dire
@CotherRichard: Absolutely gutted for the players. Rubbish Ruben. He’s making great players look dejected and not working. Wrong formation and a lot of trouble. How can you enjoy playing when the team can’t work in this formation Ruben wa..ks.
@brizzleblade: Selles out. COH Sports out.
@Justin23Rice: What a shambles of a performance, we are in trouble. I was actually in favour of a new manager and a fresh start with new ownership but I didn’t expect them to fumble it this badly. It’s a strange way to run a club that you only make money on in the Premier League? #sufc ⚔️
@Jonzysufc: 92 points. Heads gone.
@fullerboy01: Yet people questioned why he was sacked! Still highly rated by most podcasters 🤣 We’re in such a better place under Jakirovic #hcafc #utt
@sufcdan12: Not a single one of them fuckers even bothered turning up today fuck them all off.
@bnajoe96: I do feel for Selles. Always seems to be given the shit end of the stick. Though he really doesn’t help himself with his tactics #hcafc #sufc
Two months ago btw, since then we sold Anel, Vini and Kieffer. 0 like for like upgrades or even replacements. Can’t even compete in the Championship rn let alone at the top. Hamer gone before the end of the window and Coops gone in January if something doesn’t change quick. https://t.co/DvEtrmZXOV pic.twitter.com/JlZBDBHdL4
