Production photos have been released of the London concert of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Prince Edward Theatre.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame is playing three sold-out performances at the Prince Edward Theatre in London, including last Sunday 17 August, and this Sunday 24 August 2025.
The show boasts music and lyrics by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the songs for Disney’s original 1996 animated movie, plus new songs and book by Peter Parnell.
The concert stars Ben Joyce (Back to the Future) as Quasimodo, Zachary James (Hadestown) as Claude Frollo and Christine Allado (Hamilton) as Esmeralda. Quasimodo is also BSL interpreted on-stage by Oliver Hewing.
The cast also includes Dex Lee as Captain Phoebus, and Adam Strong as Clopin, alongside Lois Mia Chapman (The Mad Ones: There Was An Afterparty), Davide Fienauri (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat), Caleb Lagayan (Miss Saigon), Emma Lloyd (Sunset Boulevard), Anna Marya Smith (Billy Elliot The Musical), Fanja Parent (The Wizard of Oz), and Aaron Rahn (Aladdin).
The production also features the London Voices choir.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is based on Disney’s animated movie, and Victor Hugo’s classic novel, and is directed by Jonathan O’Boyle, with musical direction by Alan Williams, and produced by Jack Maple.
The original book for the 1999 German world premiere production, Der Glöckner von Notre Dame, was by James Lapine (Into the Woods). The Berlin production ran for three years.
This new version of the show premiered in 2014 in San Diego and has travelled the world, but never made it to the UK.
The wider creative team for the concerts includes Choreography by Mark Smith; Lighting design by Jamie Platt; Costume design by Alice McNicholas; Sound design by Sound Quiet Time; Casting by Harry Blumenau; Production management by Toby P Darvill for Production Solutions Group; and Creative signing consultant Kevin Jewell.
The story follows Quasimodo, the lonely bell-ringer of Notre Dame Cathedral, as he navigates love, freedom, and acceptance in 15th-century Paris.
Songs from the show include Out There, God Help the Outcasts, The Bells of Notre Dame, Heaven’s Light, and Hellfire.
Other Disney musicals now playing in London include Disney’s Hercules at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and Disney’s The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre in London.
