DRIVERS are being warned a busy Glasgow road has been shut down after a manhole collapsed.

The Clydeside Expressway was closed to eastbound traffic before the Riverside Museum on slip around 9pm.

Drivers are urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes, reports STV News.

A spokesperson for Glasgow City Council said: “A814 Clydeside Expressway Eastbound Riverside Museum On-slip is currently closed to traffic.

“A814 Clydeside Expressway Eastbound is also reduced to one lane for a distance of 30 metres from the Riverside Museum On-slip due to a collapsed manhole.”

It comes as Rangers take on Club Brugge at tonight’s UEFA Champions League play-off match at Ibrox.

Traffic Scotland said earlier there were delays of 22 minutes in the area.

Congestion was later cleared around 7:20pm.
