Irish League: Liam Beckett says bosses need to stop looking to Man City’s Pep Guardiola for inspiration

I don’t want to sound like a cracked record, but when several people — including two former IFA Presidents — contacted me last weekend supporting my views on the way football is heading, it became clear to me that we need to act immediately if we are to stop the rot.

I have always felt that the Irish League provided us all with a great, honest to goodness solace and a type of safety net for football fans who have become somewhat disillusioned with the entertainment value being dished up by wall-to-wall coverage of the English game.
