Emergency services have raced to a crash involving a car and a motorbike in Edinburgh.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Drum Brae Road North after the alarm was raised at around 6pm on Wednesday. The road has been closed in both directions as a result of the collision.
In images shared with Edinburgh Live, three police vehicles and four ambulances can be seen in attendance. Paramedics were attending to a male on the ground and were seen escorting the man to an ambulance via stretcher.
Officers at the scene were also seen speaking to motorists on the northbound lane while their colleagues directed traffic at either end of the road. A motorbike could be seen badly damaged lying on the pavement of the southbound side of the road.
One eye witness said: “There were a lot of people standing looking on, it looked really nasty and I just hope everyone is ok. Traffic was a bit chaotic in the area as its a well used route for people getting onto Queensferry Road.
“Police were interviewing people in their cars as well as residents of the street. The motorbike looked in a bad way.”
The witness said that a white screen had been erected while paramedics tended to the male who was lying on the road.
Police Scotland have been asked for comment.
