A man has appeared in court charged with sexual offences against children.

Nathan Bennett, 30 and of Corston, appeared at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on Friday, August 15.

He was charged with eight counts of sexual offences against children.

Bennett did not enter a plea and will appear at Bristol Crown Court on Friday, September 19.

The allegations relate to incidents in Bristol earlier this year.

The families of the children are aware and are being supported, said Avon and Somerset Police.

The charges came after a six-month investigation by specialist officers, leading to the further arrest of Bennett on Thursday, August 14.

A spokesperson for the force said: “A man has been remanded into custody following an appearance at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on child sexual offence charges.

“Nathan Bennett, 30, of Corston, appeared in court on Friday, August 15, charged with eight counts of sexual offences against children.

“The charges come after a six-month investigation by specialist officers, leading to the further arrest of the defendant on August 14.

“The allegations all relate to incidents in Bristol earlier this year. The children’s families are aware and are being supported.

“The defendant did not enter a plea and will next appear at Bristol Crown Court on September 19.”
