Leeds United are set to announce the signing of Noah Okafor from AC Milan today, with a deal agreed with the Italian giants earlier in the week and Okafor travelling on Wednesday.

Leeds have chosen to move for Okafor after his performance against The Whites in Dublin. He left Isaac Schmidt bamboozled, while Leeds were also impressed with Okafor’s brace in a 4-2 win over Liverpool.

LeedsUnited.News broke the news that Leeds had agreed a deal for Okafor on Tuesday, with RedBull playing a key part in the role. Switzerland international Okafor played for Salzburg under Jesse Marsch.

Okafor was pictured travelling to England ahead of a Leeds medical on Wednesday and now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered a late-night update on Okafor with a deal expected to be confirmed very soon.

Back in January, Okafor was desperate to leave Milan to get some game time and he was close to going to Leipzig. Again, RedBull likely to have played a key role, but Okafor failed a medical with the Germans.

Leipzig ruled that Okafor was not 100% fit and a move did not materialise. But Romano has taken to X on Wednesday evening to confirm that Okafor has passed a Leeds medical and a deal is now complete.

Any concerns about a repeat of Okafor failing a medical at Leeds are over, and The Whites will be relieved that they can now push on and sign the attacker. Leeds finally bring in a replacement for Manor Solomon.

Romano said it will be confirmed today: “Understand Noah Okafor has passed his medical. All documents are signed between Leeds United and AC Milan. Leeds United club statement to follow on Thursday.”

Noah Okafor becomes Leeds’ second-most-expensive signing

The arrival of Okafor will see Leeds go close to splashing £100m on new players this summer. As things stand, quirky midfielder Anton Stach is the club’s most expensive summer addition at a lofty £19.9m.

Behind Stach is goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who has set the club back £15.6m, with Leeds taking advantage of Lyon’s financial problems to land the giant goalkeeper for a fee that many consider below his true value.
