Birmingham must’ve been built for the birds because you can’t truly appreciate its majesty until you get up into the clouds. Yet, there are only a handful of spots we recommend to soak up the sky-high views of the Second City—starting with incredible Orelle, boasting 360-degree sights while you dine.
You have to climb to the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row to appreciate the unrivalled, panoramic luxury of Orelle (which is part of The Evolv Collection, owning many other restaurants in London, Manchester and New York). There’s no other eatery like it in the city, and it was recently, unsurprisingly, crowned Birmingham’s best.

Celebrating the best restaurants, chefs and bars across the country, the British Restaurant Awards 2025 recognised hospitality professionals across 30 categories during a glittering ceremony on Monday, August 18. Orelle was shortlisted alongside eight other venues and crowned Best Restaurant in Birmingham following a public vote.
“We are honoured to be awarded ‘Best Restaurant in Birmingham’ for the second year running,” Executive Chef, Kiran Suvarna, said. “As a team we pride ourselves on our seasonal changing menus and hospitality, so to be recognised within a city of great talent is an honour. We’d like to say a huge thank you to the British Restaurant Awards and for everyone that voted for us.”

Beyond the beautiful sights, Orelle is more than a glass box in the sky. It has perfected serving seasonal classics and modern French dishes, as well as classic and innovative cocktails, expertly crafted by some of Birmingham’s best mixologists. Particularly, its Prix Fixe menu (two courses, £33, three courses, £39) means all can enjoy a little luxury even on a budget.
You may also want to check out its elevated bottomless brunch, but nothing beats watching the sunset while you tuck into a Sunday lunch. Or just enjoy a cocktail or cold beer on the terrace, while a DJ brings energy to the bar every Saturday night. There are plenty of reasons to love Orelle; you can learn more about them here.
