Jodi and Royce Chiddle, owners of RHC Carpentry & Building, have pledged to support Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal this year as the exclusive sponsor.
The charity supports Bristol Children’s Hospital, where the Chiddles’ children have previously received care.
RHC Carpentry & Building, which covers North Somerset, Bristol, and South Gloucestershire, will sponsor the Grand Walk on Sunday, September 28, at Ashton Court.
Their support follows the successful Gromit Unleashed 3 event.
The couple’s personal experiences with the hospital have driven their commitment to the cause.
Their son was admitted at just four days old, and their daughter required care in January this year.
Jodi said: “The support we received was fantastic.
“The care and facilities available were incredible.”
“The Grand Appeal Charity is absolutely critical and needs as much support as possible to keep the Children’s Hospital moving forward.”
This personal connection has inspired a year-long focus on supporting the charity and raising its national profile.
Their daughter, aged three, participated in the AJ Bell Mini Run in May for the Grand Appeal Charity, and Jodi herself ran the AJ Bell Half Marathon for the same cause.
More information about the charity and the Grand Walk event can be found at grandappeal.org.uk.
The couple’s journey into the carpentry and building trade began in 2015, when they bought their first property together in Portishead.
They transformed the one-bedroom, single-storey bungalow into a three-bedroom, two-storey house, with a new porch, landscaped garden, and summerhouse.
This project was the seed from which RHC Carpentry & Building was born.
The business has grown over the past decade, with Royce, a carpenter by trade with almost 20 years of experience, now highly recommended in the area.
