Sheffield United boss Ruben Selles has said they ‘still need’ some more players before the deadline.
Sheffield United are expected to be active on the recruitment front. SUFC have until the end of the transfer window on Monday 1st September to get some more signings through the door at Bramall Lane.

It has been a tough start to the new Championship season for the Blades so far. They have lost all three of their games in all competitions against Bristol City, Birmingham City and Swansea City respectively.
Selles has shared this transfer update, as per a report by BBC Sport: “We have eleven first-team players from last season who left the club. We replaced them with three loans and players who still need some time to be able to perform for Sheffield United. So realistically, we still need some more players in.”
Reflecting on their loss at Swansea City, he said: “Our discipline when we lost the ball was not ideal, so we were punished. We need to be more robust in our defensive transition.”
On the fans, he added: “We need them more than ever. Go on Saturday, support the team and support the boys. It’s not going to be easy. It’s not going to be simple, but they’re going to see a team that is 100% giving itself a good chance to win the game.”
Sheffield United latest after tricky start
Sheffield United appointed Selles as their head coach in June after his sacking by Hull City. SUFC picked him as their replacement for the popular Chris Wilder.
The Blades took a massive gamble in parting company with Wilder. Selles has found it tricky so far and is already feeling the pressure.

He managed to keep Hull City in the second tier in the last campaign. However, they only survived on goal difference on the final day before he was given the chop and replaced by Sergej Jakirovic.

What now for Sheffield United?
Sheffield United are back in action this weekend against Millwall. SUFC’s upcoming opponents lost 3-0 to Middlesbrough in their last outing.
The Blades were beaten in the play-off final by Sunderland at Wembley back in May. They conceded near the end and will want to bounce back this term with another promotion push.
Selles has seen the likes of Vini Souza and Anel Ahmedhodzic head out the exit door in this window though. Loanees like Rob Holding and Hamza Choudhury also went back to their parent clubs.
Sheffield United are crying out for some reinforcements over the coming days. They are lacking depth in some key areas of the pitch.
