This week’s episodes have seen Abi and Carl find a sneaky way to enjoy some uninterrupted time alone.
Abi stayed behind on the Street when her husband Kevin went on holiday to Mallorca. She lied that she’d lost her passport and needed time to sort it out.

Carl, meanwhile, claimed that he’d gone off to Wales for a few days. In reality, he was staying at Abi’s place and loving every minute of having her all to himself.
In tonight’s episode, the plan blows up in their faces as Tracy does some detective work.
Realising that Abi is hiding something, Tracy secretly spies on her. Watching through the kitchen door of the Webster house, she soon spots her kissing Carl.
When Tracy threatens to tell Kevin what’s going on, Carl is forced to play ball by asking what she wants in return for her silence.

“Well, I’m going through a divorce at the moment – and they don’t come cheap,” Tracy replies.
Abi points out that they’re supposed to be friends, but Tracy complains: “When it suits you. All the while, I was trying to get off with him and you were sleeping with him. You must have been laughing at me.”
Much to the secretive pair’s horror, Tracy announces that £10,000 would be a suitable price for her silence. Will they agree?

Jonathan Howard, who plays Carl, recently told us: “When the affair starts to come out – and Tracy in particular will discover this affair – Carl is new to Weatherfield, so he doesn’t really know who she is!
“Abi, however, does know who Tracy is and is definitely warning Carl that Tracy is here to disrupt, she can’t be trusted, and she’s very dangerous.
“I’ve also recently found out that she’s killed people! So I think Carl is being a little bit naïve when he thinks he can control and have power over Tracy…”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
