A woman who lost more than six stone after taking Mounjaro injections has got a tattoo in honour of the weight loss jab, after claiming it “saved” her life.

Siân Robinson, 32, went under the needle to get the word “GPL-1”, which is the medication used in the weight-loss injection, tattooed inside a love heart on her right arm on July 22, 2025.

The self-confessed food addict admitted that her weight had “spiralled” out of control in recent years, and that takeaways were her “biggest weakness”.

Siân said she would tuck into four large Domino’s pizzas a week, and she would consume up to 6,000 calories a day instead of the recommended 2,000 for women.

Despite trying up to five different diets every year, she continued to gain weight until she hit 28st 12.5lbs and was wearing clothing size 28 to 30.

Siân, who got engaged to her long-term partner, Matt, 31, a flower wholesaler, in August 2024, feared she would be unable to walk down the aisle or that she would even not make it to the big day if she didn’t do something to change her health.

After trying all other options, Siân’s friend, Lauren, 31, lash technician, recommended she try the weight loss jab Mounjaro. She ordered the medication to arrive in November 2024, shortly after enjoying one last “blow out” on an all-inclusive Disney Cruise .

Despite being apprehensive, Siân said the jab was “amazing” and has since shed 6st 5lbs. She now weighs 22st 4.5lb and wears a size 22.

To celebrate her weight loss, Siân asked her tattoo artist Toni Warman, who goes by Tattoos by Toni, to design a piece to honour the medication that “saved” her. She then spent two-and-a-half hours having a heart shape with ‘GLP-1’ permanently etched on her.

Siân, a registered aesthetic nurse, from Worcester, West Midlands, said: “Mounjaro literally saved my life. It felt only right I honour IT.

“I told my tattoo artist to find a way commemorate it. As soon as she showed me the design, I fell in love. I wear it proudly. It’s a permanent reminder of how much it turned my life around.

“If I kept going the way I was, I might not even be here.”

Siân said her weight has always been “up and down”, since she went to her first slimming class aged 10 after a referral from the GP. Despite losing weight as a teen, she said that her eating habits became “out of control” over the last five years.

She believes her “comfort” eating got worse when she left her job in the NHS and experienced the “stress” of starting her own business.

She said: “I had a full-blown food addiction. I thought it was normal to think about food all the time. My portion sizes used to be huge.

“Takeaways were a huge weakness – McDonald’s or Dominos. I was in the habit of getting straight on Just Eat or Deliveroo after arriving home from work.”

Every year Siân and her mum, Maria Robinson, 58, a laser and skin therapist, would go to Disneyland Orlando, USA. Her mum also had battled with her weight and lost 16st after undergoing a gastric sleeve operation.

Siân said: “Going to Disneyland was our happy place. But I saw pictures of myself getting bigger over the years with each trip. When I was 31 I had to rent a mobility scooter to get around the theme park.

“It was too hard to walk – that was a real turning point for me.”

After Matt proposed in August 2024 while on a cruise in America, Siân had fears that she would “die” before the wedding if she carried on the way she was.

Siân said: “I became a recluse and stopped looking after myself. I could barely walk and I was desperate – eating myself into an early grave. I tried Ozempic before, but it made me really sick, so I was apprehensive.

“Mounjaro is a different type of medication, so I hoped it would suit me better. Its last chance saloon.”

In November 2024, while on Disney Cruise with family, Siân ordered the GPL-1 medication to take to try and slim down. Arriving home, she began taking the weekly jabs within six month had dropped 6st 5lbs.

Siân said: “I still have a way to go – but I’m so pleased with the results so far. I was very nervous, but I’ve had very little side affects. My biggest advice is to order from a reputable pharmacy – who can help and advice while taking it.

“This time last year, I never thought I would be where I am today. Matt has been my biggest support and with me throughout. I even found the perfect dress for the big day, and I have confidence showing off my tattoos again.”
