Barcelona boss Hansi Flick is confident the Spanish giants will see the best version of Marcus Rashford this season ahead of a potential full debut for the Manchester United loanee.

Rashford came off the bench late on in Barca’s season opener against Mallorca last weekend and could feature from the start against Levante on Saturday evening.

The England international made the switch to the Nou Camp having fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim.

Rashford’s form for United dropped off significantly in the past two years and he fell foul of Amorim early in the Old Trafford boss’ tenure.

The 27-year-old hopes to reignite his career in Spain and his new manager has been impressed with what he’s seen from the forward so far, insisting his spell in La Liga will be a success.

“He gives us more possibilities,” said Flick. “I know he’s more comfortable playing as a winger, but his strength is first touch and with his dribbling and his speed, he is really helpful for our game and I think we can enjoy a fantastic Marcus Rashford this season, 100 per cent.”

Flick was less than impressed with his side after their 3-0 opening day win against Mallorca saying afterwards he ‘didn’t like’ the performance.

Rashford played a little over 20 minutes off the bench in that fixture.
