It marks the third time this year that Glasgow has been transformed into a Hollywood set for filming.

Cochrane Street’s grey sandstone buildings were transformed with vibrant storefronts, complete with iconic US mailboxes and speed limit signs today.

Dummy food carts, newspaper stands and displays of fresh flowers, breads, cheeses and pretzels were strewn across the pavements near Glasgow City Chambers.

Crew members were spotted unloading vans packed with props and equipment.

Red cranes have been positioned across the street, with insiders hinting that actors will be suspended from them as filming is understood to begins tomorrow.

It’s not yet known what the filming is for but insiders suggest it could be an Apple commercial.

A source told The Scottish Sun: “Crews are preparing for another major production this weekend in Glasgow. The streets have been transformed into a slice of New York, and there’s talk that Apple might be behind it, filming a brand-new commercial.

“On Saturday, actors are set to be suspended from the cranes on Cochrane Street. The action will shift to Melrose Street on Sunday.”

The tech giant took over Aberdeen railway station earlier this year for its latest Apple Arcade advert.

The ad featured a family racing through the station to catch their train with well-known game characters chasing them.

This latest production follows hot on the heels of Spider-Man 4, which wrapped up filming in Glasgow just weeks ago.

The blockbuster saw the Dear Green Place transformed into downtown New York, with Hollywood star Tom Holland, 29, swinging into action as the masked web-slinger in his fourth outing as the iconic superhero.

In June, Glen Powell, another Hollywood heartthrob, shot scenes for his upcoming Sci-Fi thriller Ghostwriter, directed by JJ Abrams, in Glasgow.

And next month, Glasgow’s streets will be closed down again as the set for Joel Cohen’s newest flick, Jack of Spades, comes to town.

The Crown and Challengers star Josh O’Connor is set to star in the historical drama.

But little else is known about the mysterious new movie.

Road closures are also in place this weekend for filming.

Restrictions are in place from Thursday, August 21 till Tuesday, August 26.
