Dutch shoe brand Van Lier has reopened its webshop again, a week after the bankruptcy of several subsidiaries.
Parent company rescued
The webshop has been reopened by its parent company Vanlier B.V., which itself remained outside the bankruptcies. This is somewhat surprising, as just last week it sounded that the parent company would also apply for bankruptcy this week.
It is not yet clear whether there is also a future for the company with physical stores. In May, the company closed all of its seven stores with immediate effect and at the time, it sounded that physical stores “were not future-proof” in the current climate. Whether their future looks more positive after a relaunch is not yet known.
