The BBC’s “all around great drama” Us has landed a new streaming home in the UK.

Adapted from David Nicholls’ novel of the same name, the series follows married couple Douglas and Connie Peterson as they embark on a unique trip before their son Albie heads off to university.

However, before they begin their European adventure, Connie makes a shocking admission, telling Douglas she’s considering a divorce.

The White Lotus‘ Tom Hollander and Slow Horses‘ Saskia Reeves star as the unhappily married couple. They are joined by House of the Dragon actor Tom Taylor, who plays their teenage son Albie.

Speaking previously about the show, Taylor insisted that it balanced “moments of comedy” with the more serious storyline.

“Sometimes some people can’t take situations without maybe having a little joke, and you get to see that in the show,” he told Digital Spy and other media. “It’s not all super dark and moody and miserable because you do get little moments of comedy in everyday life, so it reflects that very well.”

Taylor’s description was echoed by fans on IMDB, who praised the series for its emotional but humorous narrative.

“A cracker, this four-part drama is one of the best offerings to come from the BBC for a long time. It’s funny, poignant, moving and all around great drama,” read one review, while another added: “A funny, droll, uplifting but also sad and sobering experience.”

Us is available to stream now on U.
