More than two years after the theatrical release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Marvel fans finally received an update about the potential future for Chris Pratt‘s fan-favorite character Peter Quill/Star-Lord. He was last seen by fans at the end of GOTG Vol. 3, where he comes back home to Earth to reunite with his grandfather after deciding to leave the team with Rocket as the new captain.
What’s next for Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord in the MCU?
According to The Cosmic Circus’ Alex Perez, Star-Lord’s return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will reportedly feature him building a “new team of unlikely heroes,” which will be different from the Guardians of the Galaxy. At the moment, Pratt is the only confirmed original cast member from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise who will be coming back to the MCU. It remains unclear if Marvel Studios still has plans for Rocket, Groot, and other popular GOTG characters to appear in future MCU projects.
