Two men were bitten by dogs at a business park in Wigan. Emergency services were called to Leigh Road, Hindley Green, following reports of the incident near the now closed Nippon Electric Glass factory site this morning (August 23).
Police say that a group of people had made their way onto the site with a dog and were “acting aggressively” towards security personnel and guard dogs.

The M.E.N understands that a security guard and member of the group sustained injuries “consistent with dog bites” and they were treated by ambulance at the scene. A section 60C order was put in place, requiring the group to leave premises.
A spokesperson for GMP said: “Officers are responding to an ongoing incident at a business park in Hindley Green in Wigan after a security team reported a group of people with a dog were on site, acting aggressively towards them and their dogs.
“Two men sustained injuries consistent with dog bites. NWAS attended and treated them on site.
“At 11:10am today (23/08/2025), we issued a section 60C order requiring the group to vacate the premises.”
