Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest will go head-to-head in the Premier League at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon, as the two clubs’ heated rivalry finally makes it to the pitch.

Oliver Glasner’s side started their season with a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge before claiming a 1-0 win in their Europa Conference League qualifier on Thursday night, a tournament they’re in after being booted out of the Europa League, and replaced by Forest. Nuno Espirito Santo’s team, on the other hand, opened the season with a dominant 3-1 win over Brentford.

Both managers have got some big decisions to make ahead of the game, and this is how GIVEMESPORT expect the sides to line up.

Eberechi Eze in action for Crystal Palace against Liverpool in the Community Shield

Crystal Palace will be without star forward Eberechi Eze as he closes in on a move to join Arsenal, but defender Marc Guehi should continue to play despite big question marks over his future too.

Daichi Kamada is still unlikely to be available after being forced off in the Community Shield, while Eddie Nketiah, Cheick Doucoure and Chadi Riad are long-term absentees.

Glasner Drops Team News Update

Speaking on his pre-match press conference, Glasner shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.

“Daichi [Kamada] did part of the normal training session, but we were just five players, because we’re having one or two playing with the U21s tonight. It was good news. I don’t think [he is fit] for Sunday, but for Thursday [night away to Fredrikstad].

“It looks good [after last night’s match]. The players, of course, had a good recovery session.”

MixCollage-26-Apr-2025-08-02-PM-4548

  • Crystal Palace Predicted XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Sarr, Mateta, Esse.
  • Crystal Palace Predicted Substitutes: Benitez (GK), Sosa (DEF), Clyne (DEF), Cardines (MID), Devenny (MID), Lerma (MID), Edouard (FWD), Rak-Sakyi (FWD).

With the post-Eze era set to begin, young winger Romain Esse could come into the side as his replacement ahead of Justin Devenny, who started in the midweek clash.

£160,000-a-week duo Odsonne Edouard and Jefferson Lerma, who started in defence in the Conference League, will be on the bench.

Nottingham Forest Team News

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo

The Tricky Trees had a perfect start to the season last weekend, and have now added a host of new faces to the squad since with all of James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Douglas Luiz available to make their debuts.

Nicolas Dominguez is still unavailable with a knee injury picked up at the end of last season, but aside from that Espirito Santo has a fully fit squad to choose from.

Espirito Santo Drops Team News Update

Speaking on his pre-match press conference, Espirito Santo shared an update on his squad ahead of the game.

“All the players have joined. Now we are assessing totally different situations.

“Douglas only joined this morning, in the preparation for set-pieces. Let’s see. We are assessing them all.

“I think they (the new signings) are going to be useful, no doubt about it. First of all, our job is to integrate them into the squad and then I think they can help us.

“Chris Wood started the season on fire, so we are delighted with that.

“We have good options. Igor (Jesus) did all of the pre-season, where we tried different things. We also still have T (Taiwo Awoniyi) and Kali (Arnaud Kalimuendo). I think he (Kalimuendo) can be a good option in terms of a different profile – speed, more pace. There (up front) we are OK.”

Nottingham Forest Predicted XI

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood celebrates

  • Nottingham Forest Predicted XI: Sels; Aina, Murillo, Milenkovic, Williams; Sangare, Anderson; Ndoye, Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi; Wood.
  • Nottingham Forest Predicted Substitutes: Abbott (GK), Morato (DEF), Cunha (DEF), Boly (DEF), Luiz (MID), McAtee (MID), Hutchinson (FWD), Kalimuendo (FWD), Jesus (FWD).

After a dominant win last time out, Forest are unlikely to make any changes to their lineup, which should allow the manager to ease in the club’s new signings.

That should see £135,000-a-week Brazilian Luiz on the bench alongside McAtee and Kalimuendo.
