Record-breaking Arklow powerlifter Lindsay Nolan at the WPC European Championships in Poland.
One year is all it’s taken for Arklow’s Lindsay Nolan to go from a casual gym-goer to breaking Irish powerlifting records on a European stage. In a sport where most athletes take years to perfect their form, the young mother has catapulted herself into the spotlight with a quiet determination that belies the sheer power she brings to the bar.
Initially lifting to lose weight, 28-year-old Lindsay began her fitness journey doing “just standard gym stuff” before the mother of two discovered the three lifts she loved most – squat, bench, and deadlift – were central to the sport of powerlifting.
